Bear spray
The rate is ¥1,000 per 24 hours, with a ¥10,000 deposit held and refunded in full if the spray comes back unused and undamaged.
Bear canister rental — now free
As of August 1, 2026, the centre lends food containers (bear canisters) at no charge from its front desk — a new addition alongside the bear spray program. The point of a bear canister is straightforward: bears that learn human food tastes good keep coming back, and repeated encounters like that are usually what gets a bear destroyed. The centre’s usage guidance is specific — keep roughly 100 metres between where you cook, where you eat, and where you store food and scented items, or as much distance as the terrain allows if 100 metres isn’t possible.
Coco Heli
The centre also rents Coco Heli rescue beacons: ¥1,100 for the first night and 2 days, ¥550 for each additional day.
